◆Modi's silence on divisive campaigns cause of concern: Muslim body
【New Delhi】Muslim organisation Jamaat-e-Islami Hind on the 6th of September said while Prime Minister Narendra Modi speaks of development, his silence on the divisive campaign and hate campaigns of party leaders and affiliated outfits is a great cause of concern.
 " - while PM Modi is talking about development, some leaders of his party and Sangh Parivar have opened aggressive hate campaign against Muslims and Modi is silent. It seems there is a silent understanding among them," Jamaat-e-Islami Hind secretary general Nusrat Ali said.

【New Delhi】Australian PM Tony Abbott has said Modi as Gujarat CM should not be blamed for the riots in the state as he was just a "presiding officer" who has been cleared in "endless inquiries".
 "There has been endless inquiries into this and Mr Modi has always been cleared. That certainly is good enough for me," Abbott said in an interview to a TV channel.

○PM makes a point about Hindi
【New Delhi】As Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the 5th of September interacted with students across the nation for over an hour, he made it a point to respond to each question in Hindi, though many of these questions were posed in English from students from non-Hindi speaking regions in the south and northeast of the country.
 While students from Imphal in Manipur, Tinsukia in Assam, Leh in Ladakh, Thiruvanamalai in Tamil Nadu and even a few schools in Delhi put their questions to the prime minister in English, Modi invariably responded in Hindi, with a few English words thrown in.
 The interactive session between Modi and students across the country was held at Manekshaw Centre in Delhi Cantt. after Modi addressed the students on Teachers' Day.

【Tokyo】Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the 2nd of September took a dig at his "secular friends" over his gifting a copy of the holy Hindu text 'Bhagvad Gita' to Japanese Emperor Akihito, saying they could kick up a storm and trigger TV debates back home.
 "For gifting I brought a Gita. I do not know what will happen in India after this. There may be a TV debate on this. Our secular friends will create 'toofan'(storm) that what does Modi think of himself? He has taken a Gita with him that means he has made this one also communal," the Prime Minister said to the members of the Indian community at a reception, after having an audience with Emperor Akihito at the Imperial Palace here.

【Amethi】Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on the 4th of September took a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying he was playing the drums in Japan while people in the country were battling power cuts, price rise and lack of roads and water supply.
 "The Bharatiya Janata Party made tall promises in the run-up to the general elections but there is no action on the ground after it came to power," said Gandhi, who is currently on a two-day visit to his constituency Amethi in Uttar Pradesh.
