【New Delhi】Though the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s election manifesto has categorically opposed foreign direct investment (FDI) in multi-brand retailing to "protect the interests of small and medium traders," the new government is unlikely to reverse the existing policy.
In a recent interview, Narendra Modi, set to take charge as prime minister in a few days, had said his government wouldn't roll back any policy in the sector.

【New Delhi】With tourism high on the agenda of the new government, industry is hoping the sector would get a “fresh lease of life” if the promises made in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) manifesto are kept.
The BJP, in its policy document, had stated tourism plays a key role in socio-economic progress through creation of jobs, enterprise, infrastructure development, and foreign exchange earnings. The party had said it would use tourism to revive Brand India.
