【ニューデリー】閣外協力する左派政党の抵抗にも関わらず、統一進歩連合(UPA:United Progressive Alliance)政府は、予算国会後に政府持ち分を部分的に売却する公共企業44社をリストアップした。
エコノミック・タイムズが2月21日伝えたところによると、政府が100％出資する公共企業が先ず売却の対象にされる見通しだ。これらには、National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC)／National Mineral Development Corporation(NMDC)／Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC)／Indian Railway Construction Company (Ircon)／Minerals and Metal Trading Corporation (MMTC)／Scooters India Ltd (SIL)が含まれる。
左派政党の抵抗を回避するため、100％出資企業については75％の持ち分を、また既に25％以上のシェアを手放したものについては51％の持ち分を、それぞれ維持する方針とされる。政府はMaruti Udyog Ltd(MUL)とBharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL)の持ち分売却だけで、年内に2400クロー(US$5.51億)の資金調達を目指している。
しかし、既に25％以上の政府持ち分を売却しているMahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd(MTNL)／Gas Authority of India Ltd(Gail)／Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd(HPCL)／Shipping Corporation of India (SCI)／Container Corporation of India(Concor)／Bharat Petroleum Corportion Ltd(BPCL)／Dredging Corporation of India (DCI)／Bharat Earthmovers Ltd(BEL)の一層の持ち分売却に際しては、強硬な抵抗を受けるものと予想される。
リストアップされたこの他の企業には、Powergrid Corporation Ltd(PGCIL)／Power Finance Corporation (PFC)／Rastriya Ispat Nigam Ltd(RINL)／Rail India Technical & Economic Services(RITES)／Pawan Hans Helicopters Ltd／Gardenreach Shipbuilders and Engineers Limited／Indian Renewable Energy／Electronic Corporation Of India／Hindustan Paper Nigamが含まれると言う。
